About Venetia


English journalist and author Venetia Thompson grew up in South Devon. She studied Russian at UCL. She briefly became a bond broker in London until she was fired for gross misconduct on account of an article she wrote for The Spectator about her experiences on the trading floor. She has written on everything from wine bingo to gun crime for The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Times, British GQ, The Daily Beast, YOU Magazine, Glamour, Decanter, The Guardian and The Spectator. Her first book, Gross Misconduct, was published in 2010 by Simon and Schuster. She is currently working on her second.
